How the Countdown Calculator Works
This tool calculates the exact duration between right now and your target date, broken down into every unit of time you'd want: years, months, weeks, days, hours, and minutes. It's not just a simple day counter — it handles the complexity of months with different lengths, leap years, and the cascading differences between date units.
You can also enter a past date. Instead of counting down, the calculator switches to counting up — showing you how much time has elapsed since that date. Handy for anniversaries, "time since launch", or figuring out exactly how long it's been since an event.
